These terms govern the patient text-messaging program operated by Miriam Haxton, MD (Miriam Haxton). Effective August 16, 2026.
When you opt in, Miriam Haxton, MD sends text messages related to your care and your relationship with the practice, including:
We do not send marketing or promotional text messages under this program.
You enroll by checking the optional text-message consent box on our intake or communication-preferences form, by turning on text messages in the patient portal (portal.miriamhaxtonmd.com), or by asking our staff to enroll your mobile number. Consent is not a condition of care. See how patients opt in.
Message frequency varies and is typically 1 to 10 messages per month; you may receive more around scheduled visits. Message and data rates may apply according to your mobile carrier plan. Check with your carrier for details.
Text STOP to any message from us to cancel at any time. You will receive a single confirmation message and no further texts. You may also turn text messages off in the patient portal or ask our staff. Opting out of text messages does not affect your care or other communications from the practice.

Text messages are not monitored around the clock and must not be used for urgent clinical matters. If you are experiencing a medical or mental-health emergency, call 911, or call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline).
Supported carriers include the major U.S. wireless carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery is subject to effective transmission from your carrier and network availability.
Your mobile number and text-message consent are used only to deliver the messages described above and are handled as described in our SMS Privacy Policy. We do not sell your mobile number, and no mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
